For those of you who have not had a chance to visit us, Cobourg is located in the Province Ontario within the County of Northumberland, just one hour east of Metropolitan Toronto on Highway 401, midway between Kingston and Toronto.

Cobourg's quality of life is second to none, with many recreational and cultural amenities, quality educational opportunities and affordable housing. In fact, Statistics Canada reported the Cobourg Police Service ranked first in crime clearance against policing populations between 15,000 and 50,000 in Ontario.

Citizens in Cobourg are also known to volunteer three times more than the national average as reported by the Toronto Sun who refer to us as "a small town with a big heart". In addition, most recently MoneySense Magazine ranked us 22nd on Canada's Best Places to Live 2009 list.  We were also ranked highest in Ontario by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business members for performance of local Government and we have won Provincial and Federal awards
for "Communities in Bloom". Cobourg offers a stable and skilled labour force, excellent transportation facilities including mainline CN and CP Rail, VIA Rail commuter service, fibre optics and local government committed to business needs. We are home to approximately 1,000 businesses in a diverse range of sectors. Some of North America's most successful businesses such as Belden (Canada) Inc., Horizon Plastics, National Manufacturing Canada Inc., as well as over 70 franchises have chosen our area for its competitive advantages.
